Washington - George Zimmerman, who was acquitted in July in the killing of an unarmed black teenager, will not face prosecution in his November arrest on suspicion of domestic violence due to a lack of evidence, Florida authorities said on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old was arrested after an altercation with his girlfriend in Seminole County, Florida.

He had been free on bond on charges of domestic battery and criminal mischief for allegedly pushing the woman and breaking a table.

Zimmerman's acquittal in the 2012 killing of Trayvon Martin touched off nationwide protests.

Zimmerman's lawyers argued he killed Martin in self defence. - Sapa-dpa
