The International Police Association (IPA) will host the 17th Annual Classic Car and Bike Show on Saturday January 21 and Sunday January 22 at Timour Hall Villa in Timour Hall Road in Plumstead.
The annual show features some of the rarest and most beautiful cars and bikes in the Cape. The IPA is an international NPO.
On day one of the show, the exhibition will consist of vehicles which can be defined as modern classics. These include restored cars from the 1950s and 1960s onwards, some hot rods and customised vehicles. No vintage vehicles will be on display.
On day two, the exhibition will consist of vehicles dating from as far back as the late 1890s, to more recent times. These are the classics that invoke an era of elegance, a more relaxed way of life and a time when craftsmanship was an important element of vehicle design and manufacture.
The event can be enjoyed by the whole family. There will be plenty of refreshments available, with a number of food stalls and a beer garden.
There will also be an auto jumble sale with a treasure trove of parts, tools, magazines and collectibles.
Besides limited disabled parking, there will be no on-site parking at the venue but secure, free parking has been arranged at Timour Hall Primary at the top of Timour Hall Road. The event runs each day from 10am until 4pm. Tickets cost R30. Entry is free for children under the age of 12.
Tickets are available at Computicket or at the gate on the day.Funds raised will be donated to worthy causes during the year.
The IPA have selected the Volunteer Wildfire Services and Enviro Wildfire Services as joint recipients which means that proceeds will be split between both NPOs. Other funds are donated annually to the Disaster Risk Management Volunteers and to Red Cross Ambulance Services.
