Gueller makes debut

■ The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s winter season takes place from Thursday June 8 to Thursday June 29 at the City Hall. Bernhard Gueller will be making his debut as the principal guest conductor. The concerts will feature pianists Lukas Vondrácek, pictured, Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, Luis Magalhães and violinist Philippe Graffin. Vondrácek will play Rachmaninov Piano Concerto no 3; violinist Graffin will play Brahms; Vanbeckevoort will play Gershwin Piano Concerto in F; and Magalhães will play the Third Piano Concerto by Prokofiev. Symphonies on the programme are by Schumann (no 4), Rachmaninov (no 1) and Franck, as well as Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances. Book at Computicket or Artscape Dial-A-Seat on 021 421 7695.
