Open day

■ The Cape Town Society of Model and Experimental Engineers (CTSMEE), which is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year, will hold its open day and annual fund-raiser on Saturday May 20 and Sunday May 21 at the club on the corner of Erin, Duke and Campground roads, in Croquet Lane, Rondebosch, from 9am to 4pm. Entry will be R20 for adults and R10 for pupils. Children under the age of five enter free. There will be rides for the children on the 5 inch-gauge live steam engine from 9am to noon and from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Rides cost R5. To mark the club’s anniversary, there will be a display of model engineering items made by the members past and present.
