Letter from the editor
Pretoria News, the capital's only daily, has continued to enjoy good circulation growth in spite of stiff competition from our competitors. Our mission is to produce a quality newspaper that is focused on Pretoria and its surrounding area; a newspaper that provides an appropriate medium capable of meeting, anticipating and adjusting to the needs of its readers and advertisers. We attribute our success to our deep understanding of the reading needs of our target market; an understanding which enables us to provide quality news content that is relevant to our readers. Our popular business section, Business Report, provides authoritative coverage on matters of business and the economy. The newspaper strives to be in tune with the changes that have been happening since the advent of democracy in 1994, accurately reflecting events in our city, our province and country. Located in a city that is the seat of government and home to the diplomatic corps, Pretoria News strives to report with authority on matters of state and government. Our city is also home to all ministries and key institutions such as the South African Reserve Bank and some parastatals. It is also home to the highest number of institutions of higher learning and has some of the best research organisations and world class companies. This concentration of " power and influence" makes Pretoria one of the most vibrant and dynamic cities in the country.
