MANY Red Hot Chili Peppers fans were disappointed yesterday when Computicket’s system kept crashing after they had waited in queues for hours.

Fans determined to secure tickets queued at various Computicket outlets from as early as 10am on Tuesday morning.

Clair Attewell of Joburg waited at The Glen Shopping Centre from 10am on Tuesday. This 23-hour wait ensured she was first in line when sales opened at 9am on Wednesday.

Gemma McLean waited at the Computicket branch in Hatfield from 2am on Wednesday morning.

The band will perform at the FNB stadium on February 2 next year.

John Langford, chief operating officer of Big Concerts, said this was the biggest demand for tickets they’d had in recent history.

Only 10 percent of all tickets were made available online beforehand. Cape Town tickets go on sale today at 9am.
