Archaeology students study the remains of a mammoth at an open pit coal mine in Kostolac.

London - Remarkably well preserved, these mammoth remains alone would make for a staggering discovery.

So when archaeologists in Serbia found the bones of at least another four with them at the Kostolac coal mine, they could hardly believe their luck.

Sanja Alaburic, of Serbia’s Museum of Natural History, said the bones were “probably brought there by torrential waters”. - Daily Mail
