London - Woe betide any White House photographer who gets his finger in a shot of the President.

But it’s a different matter when Barack Obama himself ruins the picture.

The leader of the free world bungled his selfie while trekking in the Alaskan wilderness with British adventurer Bear Grylls.

After posting the image on the White House’s Instagram account, the President joked: “Glad this was the only Bear I met in the park.”

The pair were visiting Exit Glacier for the US show Running Wild With Bear Grylls during President Obama’s three-day trip to Alaska to highlight climate change.

The episode will be shown in Britain on the Discovery channel after it is screened in the US later this year.

Later this month, UK viewers can see Kate Winslet on the show, eating worms and abseiling down a rockface in Snowdonia.
