Space, the final frontier for chips

London - Even if you aren’t a fast food fan, it is a recipe that promises to taste out of this world.

Scientists are conducting experiments to see if it is possible to fry chips in space, at a reduced gravity found on Mars or the moon.

Thodoris Karapantsios, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, has already found that at 3g – three times the Earth’s gravity – potatoes formed a perfect crispy crust in half the time.

He now plans experiments recreating the weightlessness of space, the Food Research International journal reports. - Daily Mail
