London - Facebook could be preparing to buy BlackBerry after reports said executives from both companies met last week.
The struggling smartphone maker has put itself up for sale and already has a £2.9bn offer from Canadian insurance group Fairfax. The deadline for a rival bid is Monday.
Last week, executives from BlackBerry flew to California to try to see if Facebook would be interested in buying it, according to reports.
When asked if this was true, BlackBerry referred back to its August announcement where the company put itself up for sale.
Facebook, which on Wednesday released its third-quarter results, refused to comment.
