London - Technology fans eagerly awaiting news of Apple’s new iPhone 6 could see the device unveiled in just under two weeks, according to the latest leak.

Promotional box art seems to confirm the announcement of the brand’s next smartphone for Tuesday, September 9.

Several other details, including redesigned volume buttons and the new location of the power button on the side of the phone, can also be seen on the image.

The leak, reported by Forbes, came from Steve Hemmerstoffer, editor of the leading French Apple blog nowhereelse.fr.

Many consider his reports trustworthy, as last year he unveiled details of the iPhone 5S hours before its launch. He claims that the image of the box art was passed to him by a reliable Chinese source.

On the box, the expected announcement date is visible, as well as the new shape of the volume buttons, which eschew the circular design of the iPhone 5S for a more rectangular look.

Last week it was reported that a late redesign of a key component had left Apple’s suppliers scrambling to get enough screens ready for the iPhone 6, leading to fears it would be delayed. - Daily Mail
