Berlin - Samsung has announced a new mid-range compact system camera that offers super-fast shooting speed and 3D photos and video. Theoretically, the NX300, which has a 20.3-megapixel image sensor, can take 8.6 photos per second in full resolution.

The camera also shoots photos and Full HD movies in 3D with the addition of a special lens sold separately.

Another feature is the 3.3-inch, tiltable touchscreen with AMOLED technology.

The camera can wirelessly transfer photos to smartphones, computers and tablets.

The NX300 will be available in March in Europe for 799 euros (about R8 000). - Sapa-dpa
