Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force

PS3, PS Vita

Rating out of five: **

What happens when you cross tower defence, real-time strategy and third-person shooting?

A horrible, muddled mess appears to be the answer if Q-Force is anything to go by.

At the core of the game sits a 3D action-adventure wrapped around a tower defence set-up.

You have a number of nodes you'll need to protect from the attentions of the bad guys, and then find the enemy's nodes that must be smashed in order to win.

This balance of attack and defence is a well-trodden path, and works best in the game's multiplayer, but there's just not enough meat on the bones to tempt anyone but the most ardent fan. - The Independent
