By combining a gripping storyline with action, adventure and a truly immersive post-apocalyptic environment, developer Naughty Dog has created a world where survival is at the heart of every decision in the game.

The Last of Us had previously led the British Academy Games Awards nominations with a total of ten nominations, going into the ceremony at London’s Tobacco Wharf.

The PlayStation exclusive masterpiece walked off in the end with five awards including the most prestigious award of the evening, Best Game 2014.

Neil Druckmann, Creative Director for Naughty Dog, said “It is a very great honour to be recognised by the Academy with such prestigious accolades. Leading the nominations in the company of such hallowed fellow nominees was both gratifying and humbling. But for The Last of Us to actually walk away with five awards on the night felt incredible. Thank you so much to everyone who voted – the whole team is delighted!”

Bruce Straley, Game Director on The Last of Us, was present at the event to witness The Last of Us also win the Audio Achievement Award.
