It’s going to be almost like a shootout in the wild, wild west – South Africa’s finest sprinters lining up for the men’s 100 metres at the South African championships.

The event takes place in Potchefstroom from April 20-22, and it promises to get red-hot on the track as the likes of Akani Simbine, Wayde van Niekerk and defending champion Henricho Bruintjies go toe-to-toe for the title of fastest man in South Africa.

The banter has been building up for weeks following Olympic finalist Simbine’s astonishing start to 2017, where he has already posted a world-leading time of 9.92.

But 400m world record-holder Van Niekerk will pose a serious threat, and has already told Bruintjies that he wants to claim the 100m title.

Check out our video where we profile the contenders and what they had to say as they try to #FillUpPotch!
