Cape Town – Independent Media and the Cape Argus has lent its full backing to an exciting first-of-its-kind African multi-sport festival that is set to take the sports events industry by storm.

The 'Cape Argus SportShow' - South Africa's first multi-sport festival featuring spectacular entertainment, sport clinics, extreme shows, appearances by sport celebrities and an extensive range of sport-related exhibits - will take place at Cape Town's Sandringham Farm from 19 - 21 March 2016.

A number of phenomenal jaw-dropping acts have already been confirmed for the show that will have Cape sports fans gawking in amazement.

Targeted at all sport lovers - from the fanatical sport enthusiast to the casual "sport for fun" participant, the SportShow is a platform for the South African sport industry to showcase its strength and encourage a healthy and sport-loving lifestyle.

Targeting 20 000 - 30 000 visitors over 3 days, with 6000 m² of exhibitions, 150 exhibitors and some of the country's top schools participating, the sprawling gardens of the picturesque Sandringham near Stellenbosch is the perfect setting for what is being billed as the 'Ultimate Sport & Lifestyle Experience'.

The Cape Argus SportShow's four categories are Sport Technologies and Wearables; Action, Adventure and Watersports; Extreme Sports and Health and Fitness.

Some of the exciting acts that have already confirmed their participation for the Cape Argus SportShow include:

- Lords of Gravity, one of the most well-known Acrobatic Slam Dunk Teams in Europe, who will perform their extremely spectacular and innovative basketball slam dunk show, demonstrating high-flying perfectly choreographed acrobatic moves.

-Red Bull Freestyle motocross champion 'Sick' Nick de Wit will showcase his talent with the best local and international riders in the FMX Freestyle shows.

- In the Xtreme Speaker Theatre - hear what well known adventurers, thrill seekers and sport stars have to say, hosted by Riaan Manser.

- Extreme stunt shows featuring the country's most skilled riders on BMX bikes, MTB Bikes, Trail Bikes, Scooters, Rollerblades and Skateboards in a spectacular, non-stop, action-packed show that will thrill and amaze the crowds.

The SportShow will also offer visitors a chance to meet their favourite local and international sport stars, including Springbok rugby players, Proteas cricket heroes and Bafana Bafana soccer stars.

Not for the fainthearted, the height-phobic, or anyone who's just eaten lunch, the 'bag jumping' event will enthrall. Mixed with some seriously impressive bike stunts, it makes for an extreme sports show that gives new meaning to the words "adrenalin rush" ... this is perfect family entertainment.

In homage to the leading role the Cape Argus has played in the cycling fraternity over the years, the SportShow will have a major cycling component and a cycle test track will be available to test bikes and rides before you buy.

There will also be a dedicated Cross Fit Box with competitions and live demonstrations.

A full entertainment programme with a multitude of activities will be rolled out during the event, resulting in an action-packed, celebrity-filled and interactive event that sport enthusiasts will want to visit to be entertained, see what's new on the market, compare prices and shop.
