Johannesburg – Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Saturday said further meetings with the International Cricket Council (ICC) would be needed before the two bodies could reach an agreement on the ICC's revamp proposals.
On Tuesday the ICC announced in Dubai plans relating to the future structure, governing of the game and financial models of the organisation.
It said it had received unanimous support from members including CSA.
CSA, however, later said the unanimous support was subject to approval.
The cricketing body held a joint session on Saturday to discuss the issues surrounding the ICC's new plans.
“We had very fruitful and constructive session today,” said CSA President Chris Nenzani in a statement.
“After carefully considering the ICC revamp proposals, we have reached a position where we will need to engage further with the ICC leadership before we can reach a consensus position ahead of next Saturday's ICC board meeting.
“I am confident that we can reach agreement based on the principles that we strongly adhere to,” said Nenzani.
“As these are sensitive matters, there will be no further comment at this stage.” – Sapa
