Even though the Cape Cobras romped to an emphatic win against the Knights, coach Paul Adams knows there’s still plenty of work ahead.

Adams told the Cape Argus: “We need to keep our feet on the ground and look at Sunday’s victory to maintain our momentum and build on our victories.”

The Cobras face third-placed Dolphins on Friday, followed by an away match to log-leaders, the Highveld Lions, on Sunday.

Despite the hectic schedule and fierce competition, Adams’ mindset since he took over the reigns remains the same.

“Each team is a worthy opponent, but we need to focus on how we play and how we approach each game.

“We are reaching the back-end of the competition, so we can’t focus too much on future games, but take it step for step and one game at a time.”

Adams will await the medical clearance for captain Justin Ontong who bruised his left index finger.

Today the Lions travel to Durban to face the Dolphins (3pm start).

The Lions suffered their first loss of the season to the Knights on Friday and Dolphins captain Daryn Smit will be wary of a potential backlash.

“They’re top of the log for a reason. They’re a well-balanced team and I think coming into this game on the back of a loss is not ideal for us.

“They’ll be pumped up to get back to winning ways. We’ll have to be fully prepared,” said Smit.
