Johannesburg – The One-day Cup match between the Highveld Lions and Warriors was abandoned at the Wanderers on Sunday due to rain.

The Lions made 208/6 in 43 overs after the game had been reduced due to an earlier rain interruption, and the match was called off before the Warriors could start their chase.

Neil McKenzie top scored for the Lions with 73 not out, while fellow veteran Makhaya Ntini was the pick of the Warriors bowlers, taking 2/23 in nine overs.

With the points being shared, the Lions stretched their lead at the top of the log, with one round of matches left before the playoffs.

The Warriors remained in bottom spot as their chances of reaching the one-off semi-final evaporated.– Sapa
