Durban – The One-day Cup match between the Dolphins and Warriors was abandoned after 17 overs due to heavy rain at Kingsmead in Durban on Friday.

The home side had reached 67 for two when the players were initially taken off at 4.18pm.

After easing up slightly and the covers beginning to be removed, the wet weather returned forcing umpires Gerrie Pienaar and Brad White to call the game off two hours later.

Both teams take two points each from the match, meaning both are now on the board this season after losing their opening matches, two in the case of the Warriors.

The Dolphins face the in-form Highveld Lions on Sunday, while the men from Port Elizabeth have a week-long break before their next game against the Cape Cobras. – Sapa
