Sri Lanka A had the better of the second day of their final four-day match against South Africa A in Durban on Saturday and were well placed to take a substantial first innings lead.
The tourists first extended their overnight total of 290/8 to 336 all out and then restricted South Africa to 211/8.
Wicketkeeper Thami Tsolekile was involved in the last two wickets to fall in the Sri Lanka innings, giving him eight dismissals in the innings.
This equalled the South African record held by Athenkosi Dyili of Eastern Province and was only one short of the world record set by Tahir Rashid of Pakistan and equalled by Wayne James of Zimbabwe.
Ryan McLaren was the most successful South African bowler with figures of 4/51 from 25 overs.
Dhammika Prasad got Sri Lanka off to just the bowling start they wanted when he dismissed both Stiaan van Zyl and Dean Elgar cheaply and, although several of the South African batsmen got starts, only Farhaan Behardien, who made 66 runs off 127 balls, went on to contribute something substantial.
The wickets were shared around with none of the eight bowlers used taking more than two wickets. – Sapa
