Johannesburg – The second successive day of play in the Sunfoil Series match between the Warriors and the Knights was washed out in East London on Monday.

The match was heading for an inevitable draw at Buffalo Park due to incessant rain.

Umpires Adrian Holdstock and Dennis Smith decided there was no prospect of a waterlogged outfield drying in time for the match to start and a forecast of further showers made their decision even more straightforward.

Good news for the two teams was that play would start earlier than scheduled on Tuesday, at 9.30am, weather permitting.

The Warriors and the Knights will feel a bit despondent that an outright result is unlikely, as there will only be two days of play.

Bonus points, however, will be up for grabs, and they will look to gain as many as possible to close the gap on log leaders the Cape Cobras. – Sapa
