New Delhi – Indian cricket chief Narainswamy Srinivasan says the reason an upcoming tour of South Africa has not been finalised yet is because India want more home games, and not due to any animosity toward Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief executive Haroon Lorgat.

Srinivasan told the CNN-IBN news channel on Thursday that CSA had the right to appoint anybody and that the BCCI only needed more “inbound tours this season” for the sake of their fans.

The BCCI refused to accept an itinerary finalised by CSA in July.

India have effectively forced South Africa to shorten the tour after announcing a home series against the West Indies that ends on November 27. The BCCI have also scheduled the first game of their one-day series in New Zealand for January 19. – Sapa-AP
