Cape Town – South African bowler Dale Steyn went off the field with a right hamstring problem during the middle session on day one of the third Test, against Australia at Newlands, in Cape Town, on Saturday.

Steyn was forced to leave the field, at 2.19pm, one ball into his 11th over, and Morne Morkel bowled the remaining five balls.

Team management said Steyn had tweaked his hamstring and was receiving treatment. Management felt it was not necessary to send Steyn for scans.

It was unclear whether he would bowl again in the match. – Sapa
