Proteas Test captain Graeme Smith’s wife Morgan Deane has given birth to a baby girl
Smith confirmed the birth on Twitter: "Our daughter,Cadence Christine Smith was born this morning, 3,35kg mother and daughter doing well.thx for all kind wishes that was amazing : )"
Smith left the Proteas tour of England on Monday to be with his wife for the birth in Cape Town. He is set to rejoin the squad before the start of the second Test on August 2 at Leeds.
He was congratulated by Cricket South Africa and some of his teammates via Twitter.
"Congratulations to @GraemeSmith49 and his wife @MorganDeane who welcomed their daughter to the world this morning!" CSA tweeted.
