Cape Town - While negotiations continue between Cricket SA (CSA) and the SABC over the broadcasting of the New Zealand incoming tour, many South African fans are outraged.

Another proposal was reported to have been submitted to the SABC on Tuesday afternoon with the outcome expected on Wednesday.

After ongoing negotiations, SABC has suggested that one of the eight matches between South Africa and New Zealand will be shownlive.

Marc Jury, CSA spokesperson, said that the SABC has suggested the other remaining matches will either be aired as delayed or simply as highlight packages: “There certainly is an attempt from the SABC to broadcast, but they can’t guarantee CSA that all of these broadcasts are going to be live, which is how we’ve broadcasted cricket for the last 20 years.”

Kaizer Kganyago, SABC spokesperson, said that the broadcaster will comment on the matter at a later stage.

Fans across the country have chosen to comment via various social media sites with many unhappy that they will not be able to watch every game live unless they have access to DStv. - Cape Argus
