Johannesburg - South Africa lead by 479 runs on the third day of the first Test against Pakistan at the Wanderers on Sunday, after declaring on 275 for three.

Proteas captain Graeme Smith waited for AB de Villiers to reach his 15th Test century - which came off 117 balls and included 11

boundaries - before calling in his men.

South Africa resumed on 207 for three in their second innings, with De Villiers on 63 and Hashim Amla on 50.

Amla was unbeaten on 74 at the time of the declaration.

Their dominant position was set up by Dale Steyn's astonishing bowling which saw Pakistan dismissed for 49 on day two. - Sapa
