South Africa will host India in a one-off T20 International on March 30, Cricket SA (CSA) said on Monday.

The match, which will be played at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, will be a repeat of a one-off game played between the two countries in Durban last year.

“The match is held to celebrate the bilateral ties between South Africa and India,” CSA said.

“The inaugural event was held last year at the iconic Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban, and attracted the largest cricket audience on the African continent.

“On that occasion President Jacob Zuma called for the match to become an annual event.”

The game would become an annual fixture, according to CSA chief executive Gerald Majola.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have given us an assurance that they will be sending their strongest available team,” Majola said. – Sapa
