Cape Town - The Proteas made three changes to their starting team for their ICC World T20 dead-rubber against Sri Lanka in Delhi on Monday.

Pacemen Dale Steyn and Kyle Abbott returned to the side as coach Russell Domingo bolstered the fast-bowling department, with star youngster Kagiso Rabada left out, while all-rounder Chris Morris has back stiffness and is sitting out.

Domingo decided to retain spin twins Imran Tahir and Aaron Phangiso following their excellent performances in the heart-breaking defeat to the West Indies that ultimately knocked the South Africans out of the tournament.

There is one new face in the batting line-up, with Farhaan Behardien getting another opportunity in place of left-hander Rilee Rossouw.

Proteas captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi.
