Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Imran Tahir says he feels more like a South African than a Pakistani after making a dream comeback to Test cricket on Wednesday against Pakistan.
The leg-spinner's career-best 5/32 skittled out his country of birth for just 99 and South Africa finished the first day on 128/3, a 29-run first innings lead.
Tahir says he is “more South African” than Pakistani now and that the opportunity to play for South Africa is something he will “always remember till the day I die”.
Only 11 months ago at Adelaide, Tahir returned figures of 0/260 against Australia before he was duly dropped from Test squad. – Sapa-AP
