Islamabad – A biomechanics expert has told the Pakistan Cricket Board that offspinner Saeed Ajmal still needs to work on his illegal bowling action despite modifying it “substantially” since he was suspended in September.

The PCB says biomechanics expert Dr. Mark King at the Loughborough University has informed that Ajmal's elbow extension is still above the allowed 15 degrees.

Ajmal's bowling action was unofficially tested by Dr. King and his team with the help of 18 high quality cameras and followed the standard procedure of ICC's illegal action testing protocol.

The PCB has asked Ajmal to extend his stay in England by a week and work with former test offspinner Saqlain Mushtaq at Leicester.

The ICC suspended Ajmal in September after which Saqlain worked with him at Lahore for a month. – Sapa-AP
