Australia were dismissed for 284 runs in their first innings of the opening Test against South Africa at Newlands.

Australia were dismissed for 284 runs in their first innings of the opening Test against South Africa at Newlands on Thursday.

Captain Michael Clarke resumed on 107 in the morning session, with the hosts at 214/8, and went on to make 151, his highest Test score against South Africa.

Clarke shared a 59-run partnership for the ninth wicket with Peter Siddle to keep the tail wagging.

Fast bowler Dale Steyn took 4/55, while Vernon Philander, on debut, and Morne Morkel took three apiece. – Sapa

Time for the OLD TIMERS to go....SMITH BOUCHER and KALLIS MUST GO NOW....But geuss what it won't happen so we are stuffed for years to come because GOOD youngdters are deprived by the ou toppies.
