Pakistan wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider has been found.
The “missing” Pakistan wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider has been found, according to cricket website www.cricinfo.com.
The cricketer is reportedly at the Dubai Airport preparing to fly to the United Kingdom before going home to Pakistan.
Exactly why Haider chose to leave the team ahead of their final ODI against South Africa is unclear, but the team’s management claim the player requested his passport last night, saying he needed it for something, and went AWOL this morning.
Before disappearing from the hotel, Haider wrote this on his facebook page: "leaving pakistan cricket because get bad msg fr 1 man fr lose the match in last game.” It seemed to refer to the fourth ODI in which he hit the winning runs against South Africa.
According to the website, Haider’s brother Raza claimed the player had received threats after the match.
"I spoke to Zulqarnain after the fourth ODI and he told me he had received some kind of threats after that game, but he gave no details," Raza said.
His family didn’t seem to know anything about the player travelling home from Dubai.
The PCB, ICC and the world body’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit are investigating.

It is very interesting to know that a player of our team is missing from his room and no action taken by the management. Or even if your playeer is in some sort of trouble then where was the management??????? I think they were also unable to react but what could have happened if the missing player was from anyother cricket playing nation?????????? Would the match have been played or they might have boycotted and left that country as the Srilankans did after being attacked in Lahore????????
