David Hussey hit an unbeaten 61 against India.
Melbourne, Australia – David Hussey smashed an unbeaten 61 from 30 deliveries to lift Australia to 216/5 in a rain-shortened 32-over innings in the limited-overs Tri-Series opener against India on Sunday.
After being sent in to bat, Australia were 35/2 when rain forced players off the field after 11 overs and delayed play for three hours. The match was reduced to 32-overs apiece.
Rookie Matthew Wade scored 67 from 69 balls and shared a 73-run stand with Mike Hussey before he was bowled by Rahul Sharma. Mike Hussey belted 45 from 32 balls before being caught by Virat Kohli off Vinay Kumar.
The last over cost India 19 runs, with David Hussey raising his 50 with a six and then belting the last delivery – a free hit after a no-ball – for six. – Sapa-AP
