KP to get contract extension

Comment on this story

Dublin – Kevin Pietersen will have his England contract extended after his reintegration into the England squad was considered a success.

The batsman was only given a four month deal in October after his spectacular fall from grace following “provocative” phone messages but provision was made for it to continue until next September if the tour to India went well.

The England coach, Andy Flower said: “The contract won't be a problem. Kevin has been excellent in every way. We don't all always get on with people all of the time, and everyone has made an effort to make it work.

“It has been good fun and he should be very proud of the way he's operated out here both as an individual and as a player. I want to continue moving forward.” – The Independent
