Johannesburg – Retief Goosen turned back the years to fire a six under par 66 in the second round of the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Saturday.

The 46-year-old compiled a flawless bogey free effort in the rain-shortened day’s play.

The Goose went out in four under 32, and came home with seven pars and two birdies to vault up the leaderboard to eight under at the halfway stage, just three behind leaders Hudson Swafford and Boo Weekley.

Of the afternoon starters, 78 players were left on the course when play was suspended.
