Columbus – Heavy rain for the third day in a row flooded sections of Muirfield Village to halt play Saturday at the Presidents Cup with the United States leading the Internationals 6 1/2-5 1/2.
The Americans led in three four-ball matches while the Internationals were ahead in one and another was all square when players were called off the course.
Rivers of rain were flowing down some fairways and several greens were plagued by puddling.
The delay likely means that five alternate-shot foursomes matches scheduled for later in the afternoon will not be finished by darkness.
Severe thunderstorms and up to three inches of rain are predicted for Sunday, when 12 concluding singles matches are scheduled. – Sapa-AFP
