Jaco van Zyl had an up-and-down second round at the SA Open during his first six holes at Glendower on Friday.

Teeing off at the 10th hole, two birdies, on the 11th and 13th, were spoilt by a bogey at the 12th.

But the 37-year-old from Pretoria - who represented South Africa at the Rio Olympics alongside Brandon Stone - pulled out a four-iron at the par-three 17th.

A BMW i8 was up for grabs, and Van Zyl hit it perfectly, and it pitched before hopping and rolling into the cup.

One shot. One new car.

Unbelievably, Van Zyl also got an ace at the Rio Olympics, during the third round at the par-three eighth.

Friday's hole-in-one appeared to bolster Van Zyl's confidence as he rattled off four more birdies on the back nine to finish with a 7-under-par round of 65.

That placed him joint-third for the tournament at 8-under, two behind leader Graeme Storm of England, who was through 14 holes at the time of writing.

And now Van Zyl can drive in style as well!
