Cape Town - Fancy getting down and dirty in an obstacle course that will test your resolve as an adventure runner? Well, look no further than The Grind, which will be featured at next year’s Cape Argus Sport Show.

The inaugural show was held at Sandringham in the Cape Winelands in March this year. Next year, the organisers are adding three new attractions to the outdoor and indoor event which caters to young and old, adventurers and weekend warriors alike.

The Grind is one of them - an obstacle course of varying distances that puts participants through their paces.

Matthew Barlett, The Grind’s founder, said the courses were created for everyone and they offer a unique spectator-friendly experience, from corporate fun-seekers to fitness enthusiasts and elite athletes.

“We love first-timers so we have a course for all fitness levels: The Rapid Grind is 6km with 20 to 30 obstacles and the Deep Grind is 12km with 30 to 40 obstacles.”Barlett said they planned to host eight events across South Africa, with six of them in the Western Cape.

“We have partnered with the Cape Argus Sport Show for two events in 2017 from the 24th to 26th of March at Sandringham Estate in Stellenbosch and then a mega Grind event in Gauteng at the Kyalami race track later in the year.”

Everyone who enters The Grind will also receive free entry to the Cape Argus Sport Show.

“The partnership with the Cape Argus Sport Show comes at a perfect time where we are looking to grow the sport of obstacle course racing in South Africa.

“The team at the Cape Argus Sport Show are forward thinking and we are excited to work with them on this strategic partnership.”

The Cape Argus Sport Show will be back with more interactive events for anyone and everyone who loves sports.

The 2017 edition will be far bigger than the 2016 show with many more exhibitors expressing interest in getting involved, leading to the organisers increasing the size of the exhibition area.

Exhibitors will also have their wares on sale at discounted exhibition prices.
