Johannesburg – Former sports minister Makhenkesi Stofile has been elected as the vice-chairman of World Anti-Doping Code (Wada) on the final day of the four-day 2013 World Conference in Johannesburg on Friday.

Stofile, who previously served on the Wada executive committee and foundation board during his term as sports minister, would serve his 2014 to 2016 tenure under chairman Craig Reedie.

Reedie had been nominated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), where he held office as the deputy president, and served on London's 2012 Olympics organising committee. – Sapa
