The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd has announced former Springbok wing Pieter Rossouw, had been appointed the backline coach of the Vodacom Bulls.

Rossouw made a huge impact in the two weeks he consulted the Bulls and coach Frans Ludeke was impressed by his coaching abilities and people skills in his "trial" period of 14 days.

The former Springbok and Western Province wing said he is excited to coach the Bulls and he was looking forward to the challenges of Super 14 rugby.

"I started coaching when I was still playing because coaches like Gerrit Pool and Alan Zondagh gave a lot of the tactical responsibilities to the senior players. In 2006 I coached Majuba residence at Stellenbosch and last year I was involved with WP's Vodacom Cup team as well as the Under-19s," said Rossouw.

Ludeke said the players are equally impressed by Rossouw's contribution and he as well as the team believe Rossouw will be a great asset for the Bulls.

Rossouw is contracted by the Bulls until the end of October 2008 and will also assume responsibility of the Currie Cup team's backline. - Sapa
