Johannesburg - The Toyota Free State Cheetahs on Wednesday announced that soft drink brand Twizza has joined the franchise in a very lucrative sponsorship deal.

Twizza will feature on the right upper chest area of the new Toyota Cheetah jersey, the union said.

The carbonated soft drink manufacturer and distributor is based in Queenstown and has shown tremendous growth in recent years – opening new factories in Middelburg and Cape Town.

“We are very proud to welcome Twizza to the Toyota Cheetah family,” said Cheetahs Managing Director Harold Verster.

“Twizza is more than just a sponsor as Twizza will also have sole soft drink pouring rights in the Free State Stadium,” he added.

“Our philosophy of building a family culture in our stadium is shared with Twizza and we look forward to a long and prosperous association between the two brands.”

Ken Clark, Twizza CEO, said that it was an honour for his brand to be associated with the Cheetahs.

“Our association with the Toyota Cheetahs is a big step for Twizza to not only promote our brand but also to associate with a sports brand that has earned respect over many years within and outside South Africa,” said Clark.

The Cheetahs start their Super Rugby campaign against the Argentinian Jaguars on February 26.
