The Bulls have unveiled a dramatic new away kit that the rugby team will wear in this years Super Rugby competition.
Some rugby fans may think it a rather sissy colour, but the Bulls rejected the traditionalists on Monday and unveiled a dramatic new purple and pink away kit that the rugby team will wear in this year’s Super Rugby competition.
The striking colours mark a significant image shift for the Bulls from the traditional light blue, and kit manufacturer Puma says it was inspired by the purple jacaranda trees that mark the streets of Pretoria.
Bulls captain Pierre Spies said on Monday that the kit manufacturer had certainly changed the pace since their arrival at the Bulls and the team felt that their new jersey – a complete contrast in colour from the traditional kit – “is a great way to celebrate a new partnership”.
The players are also 100 percent behind the colour change and will be playing as hard as ever in pink.
Puma South Africa’s marketing director, Brett Bellinger, said: “In designing the new away shirt they wanted to create a statement, so we opted for a striking one inspired by the purple jacaranda trees that are synonymous with Pretoria.”
The Super Rugby replica away shirt will be available in shops from February 24 and will sell for R599. – Pretoria News

It seems to me as if men are so unsure of their manliness that they have to wear "manly" colours. Real men can wear pink with confidence

Typical comments from stereotypical South African rugby supporters. Most of whom are closet queens themselves. Stade Frances play in pink. Whats the problem guys, are you not in touch with your feminine side?

The "Blue Bulls" is a Currie Cup team, not a Super Rugby team. In the Super 15, they're just called the Bulls. (Sort of like Western Province and the Stormers) So this entitles them to wear kits of any colour. Granted, pink is bar far the worst choice.

How about a percentage of all sales of the shirts going towards the breast cancer fund or research

Pink is generally associated with gay pride. At last the Bulls have "come out of the closet". There is nothing wrong with being gay and proud. Go Bulls!!
