Johannesburg – Golden Lions head coach Russell Winter has named Elton Jantjies in his starting line-up ahead of their Vodacom Cup clash with the Blue Bulls at Loftus.

Jantjies failed to make Lions coach Johan Ackermann's squad for the Super Rugby clash against the Reds, also on Saturday, and as a result, the young pivot has been made available for the Golden Lions.

In the forward pack, meanwhile, Theunis Reynolds will start at hooker in place of the injured Malcolm Marx.

Hugo Kloppers will start at lock, while Cyle Brink comes into the starting line-up at flank.

In the backline, Alwyn Hollenbach has recovered from injury and slots in at inside centre.

On the bench, Sephatho Qinisile has been called-up to provide cover at hooker.

Michael Bondesio will provide cover at scrumhalf after recovering from his injury, while Andries Coetzee will also make his return from injury should he be played off the bench.

Golden Lions team: Chrysander Botha, Vainon Willis, Stokkies Hanekom, Alwyn Hollenbach, Anthony Volmink, Elton Jantjies, Ricky Schroeder (Captain), Ruaan Lerm, Cyle Brink, Thabo Mabuza, Hugo Kloppers, Chris van Zyl, Jacques van Rooyen, Theunis Reynolds, Charles Marais.

Replacements: Sephatho Qinisile, Dylan Smith, Lourens Erasmus, Bobby de Wee, Michael Bondesio, Willie du Plessis, Andries Coetzee. – Sapa
