London – Scotland have dropped captain Kelly Brown for Saturday's Calcutta Cup Six Nations clash against England at Murrayfield, the Scottish Rugby Union announced Thursday.

The openside flanker's place has gone to Glasgow's Chris Fusaro, who will be making his Test debut, with scrum-half Greig Laidlaw taking over the captaincy.

In all there are three changes to the Scotland starting XV beaten 28-6 by Ireland in their Six Nations tournament opener in Dublin on Sunday.

Tommy Seymour replaces injured Glasgow teammate Sean Maitland on the wing after the New Zealand-born flyer was ruled out of the rest of the tournament after suffering soft tissue damage to his knee and ankle at Lansdowne Road last weekend.

Meanwhile Edinburgh centre Matt Scott has been promoted from the bench, with Duncan Taylor now among the replacements.

England, beaten 26-24 by France in Paris last weekend, named an unchanged matchday 23 earlier on Thursday.
