Johannesburg – Springbok hooker Adriaan Strauss is the only injury concern in the national camp, according to team doctor Craig Roberts.

“From our side the only injury concern is Adriaan Strauss, who's got a mild knee ligament sprain,” Roberts said on Monday after the team arrived in Perth ahead of their third Test in the Rugby Championship on Saturday against Australia.

“We will assess him later in the week and will make a call on his availability depending on how he goes through training in the next couple of days, but apart from that I'm happy to report we have a fit squad and are ready to go.”

Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer was not concerned about Strauss's possible unavailablity, believing he had enough resources should Strauss not recover in time for the clash.

“We have a few hookers on standby (in Tiaan Liebenberg and Craig Burden), but we have a very good medical team and I'm positive we'll get Adriaan through,” Meyer said.

“We have travelled with three hookers, so we should be fine for the first game.”

Meanwhile, overseas-based flank Francois Louw joined the squad in Perth on Monday as the final member of the touring group. – Sapa
