The Lions have announced the team that will face the Stormers in their first warm-up match of the 2012 season on Friday at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town.
Coach John Mitchell, on Tuesday, named a full strength team for the warm-up game with Hendrik Roodt the only Lions debutante in the starting XV.
The Johannesburg-based sides' new recruits Callie Visagie, Caylib Oosthuizen, Stephan Greef, Ruan Botha, Doppies le Roux, Antony Volminc and Andries Coetzee could get some game time off the bench.
Lions team: Jaco Taute, Deon Van Rensburg, Lionel Mapoe, Doppies La Grange (vc), Michael Killian, Butch James, Michael Bondesio, Warren Whiteley, Joshua Strauss (capt), Derick Minnie, Franco Van der Merwe, Hendrik Roodt, Patric Cilliers, Bandise Maku, JC Janse van Rensburg.
Replacements: Callie Visagie, Caylib Oosthuizen, Jacobie Adriaanse, Stephan Greeff, Ruan Botha, Cobus Grobbelaar, Doppies Le Roux, Anthony Volminc, Dylan Des Fountain, James Kamana, Andries Coetzee. – Sapa

lets see if the lions under mitchell are 1 season wonders or a class team. this year will have fewer interruptions compared to last year so it will be very interesting. my small change is on stormers winning this game.
