Cape Town - Springbok Sevens stars Justin Geduld and Philip Snyman have been included in the Cape Town Sevens Dream Team after the South Africans won the tournament at the Cape Town Stadium.

Geduld was voted as the Man of the Match in the Cape Town Sevens final after the Blitzbokke beat Argentina 29-14 on Sunday night, and has made the cut in the Dream Team picked by the television commentators at the end of each World Rugby Sevens Series tournament.

In the previous event in Dubai last week, no South African player made the Dream Team after the Blitzbokke lost their Cup quarter-final against USA. They went on to win the Plate final against Australia, but it wasn't good enough for any of their players to make the final team of the tournament.

But at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday, coach Neil Powell's team produced the goods to recover from a surprise 14-12 loss to Kenya on Saturday in the pool stage to hit back and beat Australia in the Cup quarter-final, France in the semi-final and Argentina in the championship match.

Geduld was one of the key cogs in the Blitzbokke outfit as he fulfilled the playmaker role vacated by the injured Cecil Afrika.

He made a vital contribution in the final against Argentina when he put in a perfectly-weighted grubber kick for flyer Seabelo Senatla to run on to and score.

Snyman is also deserving of his call-up to the Dream Team as he brought much-needed physicality to the South African team on attack and defence.

He was a strong ball-carrier who got over the advantage line, and he worked hard at the breakdowns to win possession on the ground. Kenya, who came fourth in the Cup competition after they lost to Argentina in the semi-finals and France in the third-fourth-place playoff, also have two players in the Dream Team in powerful runner Willy Ambaka (a former Western Province player) and experienced speedster Collins Injera, who was the joint-second highest try-scorer in Cape Town with five touchdowns.

Giant Frenchman Virimi Vakatawa, who was difficult to bring down when he had the ball, also made the cut. Fijian Apisai Domolailai, who scored five tries, and ace Argentine goal-kicker and playmaker Bautista Ezcurra complete the team.
