Johannesburg – Springbok flyhalf Johan Goosen will get a starting berth for the Cheetahs in their pre-season friendly against the Pumas in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

He will form a halfback combination with former Pumas scrumhalf Shaun Venter, who will start ahead of Sarel Pretorius.

The match, originally scheduled for Parys, has been moved to Old Greys in Bloemfontein due to the postponement of the Reconciliation Cup.

Goosen will start after he had a run against the Kings on the Cheetahs' tour of the Eastern Cape.

In a surprise move, Caylib Oosthuizen has been selected at loosehead prop ahead of Springbok Trevor Nyakane, who has been included on the bench.

Hennie Daniller will slot in at fullback in the absence of Springbok playmaker Willie le Roux, who is recovering from an injury he picked up in a warm-up match against the Shimlas two weeks ago.

Cheetahs team: Hennie Daniller, Cornal Hendricks, Johann Sadie, Francois Venter, Raymond Rhule, Johan Goosen, Shaun Venter, Philip van der Walt, Lappies Labuschagné, Boom Prinsloo, Francois Uys, Lood de Jager, Coenie Oosthuizen, Adriaan Strauss, Caylib Oosthuizen. Replacements: Ryno Barnes, Trevor Nyakane, Nico van Dyk, Ligtoring Landman, Boom Prinsloo, Sarel Pretorius, Elgar Watts, Ryno Benjamin, Riaan Smit. – Sapa
