Johannesburg – Lions’ coach Johan Ackermann made six changes to his starting team to face the Bulls in their Super Rugby match at Ellis Park on Saturday.

In the forwards, Ackermann made wholesale changes to the front row. Schalk van der Merwe, Robbie Coetzee and Julian Redelinghuys will all start.

In the backline, Chrysander Botha will start at left wing and Stokkies Hanekom comes in at outside centre. Courtnall Skosan fills the rightwing berth, having recovered from injury.

Lions team: Coenie van Wyk, Courtnall Skosan, Stokkies Hanekom, Alwyn Hollenbach, Chrysander Botha, Marnitz Boshoff, Ross Cronje, Warren Whiteley (captain), Warwick Tecklenburg, Jaco Kriel, Franco Mostert, Rudi Mathee, Julian Redelinghuys, Robbie Coetzee, Schalk van der Merwe.

Replacements: Armand van der Merwe, Corne Fourie, Ruan Dreyer, Willie Britz, Derick Minnie, Faf de Klerk, Elton Jantjies, Deon van Rensburg. – Sapa
